Oakover Grounds is a true Swan Valley family winery that has its roots founded from four generations of the Yukich family, whose grandfather Nikola first planted grapevines on this parcel of land in 1929. Over time, the plantings increased and in 1989, when son Mark purchased an additional 45-hectares off Houghton Estate, Oakover Grounds was born.

Today, this fertile patch of earth is run by third-generation owners, Kim, Graeme and Mark Yukich. Men who can still be found working in the vineyard at this winery that produces an approachable selection of wines that have been curated to please even the most discerning of palates.

Over three decades, Oakover has developed a reputation for producing quality wines that can be enjoyed now and are suited to our Mediterranean climate and lifestyle. With a growing collection of awards for the exceptional value represented in the quality of the wines, Oakover Grounds is poised to continue producing wine varietals suitable to the Mediterranean climate in the Swan Valley.

Damian Hutton

Is our Chief Winemaker who comes to the Oakover Estate from the Margaret River region, where he finessed his talents with prominent Australian producers for over 18 years. Damian is passionate about the Perth Hills and Swan Valley wine region and holds a strong belief in the grow-it-yourself philosophy, which is at the heart of all the Oakover teams deliver.

Matty Trent
(Vineyard Manager)

Mattyโ€™s first exposure to the world of wine occurred while working in retail liquor in the early 90s. The spark was lit when he was sent off by his employer to do the Wines of WA wine appreciation course.

The production of wine grapes became an area of great interest, particularly due to his farming background. To pursue his passion for this versatile fruit, Matty relocated to Margaret River in 1997 to study Viticulture via distance education at Charles Sturt University.

True varietal character, depth of flavour and approachability, guide the philosophy of the winemaking team โ€“ produce quality wines that offer exceptional quality and value.
